Every so often, the world calls, the stars align, and it’s time.
To have that light bulb moment event once in your life is a dream. After that first time, addiction takes over your mind, body & soul, the cravings begin again and you yearn for more.
For me, that time is now. Time to take up offers of couches from 6 years of meeting fellow traveling friends from all corners of the world, time to get ‘off the beaten track’ (again), to discover new communities and ways of life, and most of all, to learn from the people we meet and the places we go every single day.
Somewhere among the craziest year of my life, 2016, I met an incredible fellow traveller with shared values and a passion for adventure and the outdoors who was part-way through an overseas exploration himself when we crossed paths. It fell at the strangest of times, yet time felt irrelevant – after a couple of months in South America, I returned home to NZ and he was still here and has been ever since. Unexpectedly, but brilliantly, I have the opportunity to share part of this adventure with the wonderful Luke.
As all who know me can attest to, I have a thing for words -> too many of them. So excuse the ramblings, know that there is even more rubbish and brilliant ideas coming out of my mouth in real like (poor Luke) scroll through to the photos and take what you want from this casual journal of our world trip.
Starting 2 weeks from today in the country we both (currently) call home, we’re hitting the most beautiful spots of the South Island before flying out on 6 April.
Jelley (& Luke) x.
